About Indonesia

Indonesia continues to supply US manufacturing and local business with top-quality vanilla beans in Grade A/Grade B. Some say that the volcanic soil and geographic locations in Indonesia have the blessing of excessive vanilla production, next to Madagascar. The distinctive flavour and aromatic profile of the particular style of vanilla Planifolia pods are derived from the curing process utilized in Indonesia. The perfect sunlight helps the vanilla beans to dry that hold up remarkably well in heated applications.

Since our launch, sustainability is the best ethic we have adopted. That’s why we thoroughly check our vanilla beans to ensure the quality of your vanilla beans bulk. We guarantee every shipment of vanilla beans bulk you receive will be 100% fresh, affordable, and delivered on time.

About Vanilla Beans

Vanilla beans grow in tropical regions around the world, where year-round warm temperature and sufficient rainfall creates soil conditions suitable for proper growth. When they are harvested, they are actually green instead of brown.

Cultivating a quality vanilla bean is a laborious process. The labour-intensive task makes the vanilla bean the second most expensive spice after saffron. Besides, the poor weather conditions lead to shorter production that boosts the cost of vanilla beans in the global market.

If you have any questions about our vanilla beans and extracts, please contact us or leave an email. We will contact you as early as possible.

Stages of Vanilla Harvesting

Stages of vanilla harvesting need a delicate balance between moisture and average temperature:

  • Beans are cut from the stem with the help of a sharp knife. This is the time when they are green and odourless.

  • Farmers use their traditional curing method to cure perfectly flavourful Vanilla beans.

  • During the day the vanilla pods are kept in the sun wrapping in blankets at night for the step known as “sweating.” It brings out their inherent flavour and aroma.

  • Then comes drying. Here the vanilla beans are laid out into the hot sun all day and then brought inside at night when their moisture content is down to 18%-35%.

  • Once dried, next comes grading. The beans are graded depending on their shape, quality, and moisture content into various categories like “grade-A”, “grade B”, “gourmet”, “black”, etc. Indonesian Grade-A and Grade-B vanilla beans are based on moisture content, while “gourmet vanilla beans” or “black” are much more subjective.

It takes up to four years from planting the vanilla bean to the final product packaging. That’s why vanilla beans are one of the most complicated fruits on our planet.

Each bean is individually inspected to ensure that quality standards are met. After a thorough inspection, we seal the vanilla beans in the pouches, depending on the weight and bean quantity.
